LOOKING TO STAY IN A LUXURY HOLIDAY COTTAGE IN ESSEX?

Our luxury holiday cottage and private holiday home is in the village of St Osyth.  

A quintessential cottage with exposed beams, a modern cottage kitchen and a rainfall shower, original 150-year-old gate doors and wonky ceilings. The open fire in the lounge makes the house a cosy place in wintertime. The cottage sleeps four/five, having a double in the master bedroom, a day bed that can extend to a double in bedroom two and a single bed in the third bedroom all on the first floor. There is a secluded and sheltered very pretty garden to the rear of the cottage with seating and outside lighting. This is a tranquil spot to enjoy the summer weather and have a BBQ.

 

The village of St Osyth has a narrow street, with shops, pubs and a café. There are 61 listed and impressive buildings in the area as well as St Osyth Priory, which is Grade 1 listed and contains an Ancient Monument. The St Osyth holiday cottage is situated within the Conservation area.

Howlands Marsh and Colne Point are both part of the Essex Wildlife Trust found within the St Osyth Parish. The beautiful sandy beach, in nearby Frinton-on-sea with its beach huts on stilts can be reached easily by car or bus. Or take the foot ferry trip for a walk or a  bike ride around Mersea Island or Brightlingsea with its colourful beach huts can be enjoyed, meeting the foot ferry from Point Clear.

 

Wayside Cottage holiday let is dog friendly and the holiday cottage is close to some lovely walks direct from the front door. There is a walk along the back waters of St Osyth creak to the sandy beach of Point Clear for you and your dog to enjoy.  With all local beaches, most pubs and some restaurants accepting dogs, St Osyth is a fantastic family and dog retreat.

Wayside cottage is an end of terrace property, which is 150 years old, located in the historic village of St Osyth. The cottage has been completely renovated to retain all the original quirky features of wonky ceilings, old exposed beams and original gate doors. The rooms are cosy and inviting.

Our cottage is just a few minutes walk from the centre of St Osyth village, 1 minute walk from the boat yard and lake, with glorious sunrises and sunsets over the water. From the opposite side of the boat yard you can follow the river to the sea t Point Clear, watch the sun go down or get the water Ferry to Brightlingsea or Mersea Island.
